Hampshire Woodland Garden
Into the woods
Deep in the woods, so far along a bumpy track that we had to persuade suppliers to keep going even though the road ahead looked impossible, this modernist house catches the sun within the clearing.
The garden has been transformed from an overgrown space with invasive bamboo taking over, to a naturalistic and welcoming family garden. Virtually all the material on site was re-used, with an emphasis on wildlife friendly, native planting, using peat-free compost. Natural grey limestone brings plenty of mood and character to the garden and contrasts beautifully with the greenness of the foliage.
